Hot Take: Next merimack on the baseball hit list

Caleb Lewis

Team: Baseball

Event:: Game against the Merimack College

Date: April 30

After a disappointing series against Columbia, Dartmouth baseball has reconstructed four consecutive victories last week. The dominant pitching performances of Nate Isler ’27, Eddie Albert ’26 and Bryce Loeger ’28 propelled the Big Green to a scan of the series against Cornell last weekend. The team goes to North Andoover, Mass. To face the Merimack College on Wednesday, and if the pitch remains hot, Dartmouth should cross the Warriors and ensure its fifth consecutive victory.

After swept away Cornell last weekend, the Big Green improved its record at 8-10 and is now classified fourth in the Ivy League. They are in the running of the playoffs and the fans could be able to see their team in the Ivy League tournament for the first time in history.

Hot Take: women’s rugby will raise the national championship

Sid Singh

Team: women’s rugby

Event:: College Rugby Association of America First 7S National Championship

Date: May 2-3

The women’s rugby dreams of a national championship were destroyed last year. After being undefeated in their four swimming pool games in the CRAA 7 National Championship, The Big Green lost a sorrow against the University of Lindenwood in the semi-finals. The Lions were a familiar enemy since the teams met in the semi-finals in 2023 and the final in 2022. Each time, Lindenwood put an end to the Dartmouth championship activities.

Next week in Indianapolis, the Sevens rugby team will have the chance to overcome the bump in the CRAA 7S national championship. The team was close to its fall and spring seasons, with its only defeat all year round against Harvard University in the Nira championship. They are also freshly managed to claim their second consecutive title from Ivy League 7, where they took revenge for Crimson – the national champions reigning – with a rout of 27-5 in the final.

The only achievement to be made for the legendary team is a national championship. Hamas of redemption for three years, and having dominated their competition Ivy League, the stars are aligned for the women’s rugby team to win everything.

Hot Take: Softball will take at least one Columbia match

Ava Politis

Team: Softball

Event:: Series of three games at Columbia University

Date: May 3-4

After being swept by Harvard University, Dartmouth softball will go to Columbia University for its last regular season series. Last weekend, shook the Ivy League ranking while the Big Green went from the second to the fifth. The Lions are currently classified third in the rankings because they have just sweeps the Cornell University this weekend and are on a sequence of five consecutive victories. Despite the lions that arrive hot, the Big Green should take at least one victory in the series.

Columbia’s pitching has silenced Cornell’s bats, limiting them to six points all weekend. However, Alaana Panu’s bat became hot when she tripled and dominated last weekend and will not be hot this weekend.

The power Jensin Hall ‘7 began the first match against Harvard Off Strong, only granting two points in the first seven heats. However, once the match has entered additional sleeves, Hall granted six other points, which made the end of the match with a 10-2 defeat. Hall also started the match on Sunday and granted seven deserved points in 6.2 rounds. With an appropriate rest this week, fans can expect Hall to be on his game to get a place in the Ivy League tournament.
