Cold case of Franklin

The background:

Off South 27th Street, near the county line, is West Elm Road. In the 1980s, there was a bar at the corner. Industry slowly filled the old agricultural fields.

But some things remain just like they were back on February 1, 1986.

What we know:

The man was identified as Lyle Trudeau, 27 years old. There are only two cold cases that the Franklin police opened, and one of them is Trudeau.

Trudeau frequented the southern suburban bars. He was seen for the last time alive to this on East Layton in Cudahy.

It is now a different name and a different owner, but was known as the port of Corey call in 1986.

Three witnesses told the police that they had seen Trudeau leaving the back of the bar with three guys. A guy hit him, picked him up and put him in a car.

The police were able to bring together people of interest from the start.

But the case has become cold.

New technology

What is the next step:

Over the years, investigators have continued to work and re -examine possible witnesses. But now they hope that the new DNA technology will help bring investigators closer to the resolution of the case.

What they say:

“It is a teamwork through several generations of investigators. It’s just that you transmit it.” It is essentially an unresolved puzzle. And you’re just looking to get, you know, trying to bring some of the missing pieces together and try to conclude it. We now have an available technology that they did not have at the time, and you try to put both together and create a successful result in your survey. “”

The FPD said that if you know something, call them at 414-858-2643.
