High school students explore health sciences at UNK – Unk News summer camp

More than a dozen students from the Nebraska secondary schools participated in the first of five Summer Camps Explorers of Health Sciences Today.

Organized by Unk Department of Health SciencesThe half-day camp allows students to explore a variety of health care careers thanks to practical activities. Participants dissected a cow’s heart and lungs in biology laboratories, practiced the IV administration, participated in physical activities and occupational therapy and visited the University of Nebraska Medical Center-Kearney To learn more about ultrasound and x -ray.

The coming camps are scheduled for tomorrow at the McCook community hospital on June 25 at UNK on July 16 at the Lexington Regional Health Center and on July 30 in College Park in Grand Island.
