High Terk North and High South Earth will join the reconstruction Sagamore conference Starting with the 2026-27 school year.
High land schools, which are part of the Indiana conference since 2013, will join current Lebanon members, Danville, Harrison (West Lafayette) and McCutcheon in a six team league from 2026.
“We are delighted to welcome High North and High South land to the family of the Athletic Conference sagamore,” said Frank Meyer, director of Lebanon on Thursday in a conference statement. “Their exceptional sporting traditions, their excellent facilities and their solid community support make them perfect addition to our conference.”
High land schools were part of the interscholastic metropolitan conference for 15 years until the microphone administrators, citing travel problems, vote in Lawrence Central and Pike – also previous members of the Indiana Conference – to join the schools of the Indiana center in 2013.
The press release from the Sagamore conference approached the trip, quoting “the sports directors of the six schools have collaborated to effectively develop innovative planning solutions that effectively deal with transport logistics.”
The Sagamore conference, created in 1968, has undergone a big change when several longtime members – Crawfordsville, Frankfort, North Montgomery, Southmont and Western Boone – announced in 2023 that they were leaving to form a new conference, The Monon sports conference. Cascade, Greencastle and North Putnam are also part of the Eight team league, which will start to play this fall.
Tri-West, another previous member of the Sagamore conference, is part of the New Hoosier Legends Conference With Beech Grove, Greenwood, Indian Creek, Monrovia, Shelbyville, Speedway and Central Triton.
With Bloomington North takes place to fill the place of Greenwood in the state conferenceWe do not know what will happen to the Indiana conference with Bloomington South, Columbus North and Southport remaining.
