Gretna Music is preparing for a stages season.
The series of concerts, which brings world class artists to various genres to the historic Mounta Playhouse, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
This season starts with a Latin music duo winning a Grammy and will bring jazz, classic, folk and even more to Mont Gretna this summer.
“Gretna Music spent 50 years to create memorable musical experiences at Southcentral Pennsylvania,” said Suzanne Stewart, executive director of Gretna Music, in a press release. “This year, we are delighted to offer a range that reflects our rich history but which also embraces innovation and diversity at all levels.”

June 8, 7:30 p.m.: The duo winner of a grammy of the saxophonist Miguel Zenon and the pianist Luis Perdomo will reinvent the Latin ballads through a lens of jazz in “El Arte del Bolero”.
June 15, 3 p.m.: Telegraph Quartet will execute the Brahms n ° 2 chain sexuant with special guests.
June 22, 7:30 p.m.: The telegraph quartet will execute the Beethoven n ° 7 string quartet.
July 13, 7:30 p.m.: Gesualdo Six, a award -winning British vocal ensemble, performs works from the medieval period with contemporary pieces.
July 20, 7:30 p.m.: Erinys Quartet, the Curtis Institute of Music String Quartet in residence, will perform pieces by Schubert, Bartók, Debussy and more.
July 26, 7:30 p.m.: Noche Flamenca will present “Research for Goya”, a performance of dance and music inspired by the paintings of Francisco de Goya.
July 27, 7:30 p.m.: Emmet Cohen Trio, a Buzzy jazz group, is led by a young pianist and educator whose distinctions include the victory of the American Pianist Prize (2019) and the finalist of the Thelonious Monk International Piano (2011).
August 8, 7:30 p.m.: American Patchwork Quartet, a group led by two Grammy winners, will proceed a merger of American folk with jazz, country, West African rhythms and influences in East Asia.
August 9, 7:30 p.m.: Canadian Brass, a set of animated brass, promises “breathtaking solos and moments of laughter”.
August 10, 3 p.m.: Einav Yarden, pianist, will play works by Haydn, Schubert, Chopin and Lili Boulanger.
August 30, 7:30 p.m.: Tuba Skinny, a group of New Orleans, will play a mixture of traditional jazz, jug and R&B music.
August 31, 3 p.m.: The Verona Quartet will be joined by the star of Met Opera Ben Bliss for “Get Your Kicks: An American Story”, a musical road trip on Route 66.
