Health officials warn against hepatitis A after infection at the CAPE COD restaurant

Provincial health officials, Massachusetts, issued a potential hepatitis exposure on Saturday after a food worker was infected with the virus. Hepatitis A and must contact their health care provider. In a press release, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment and the Provincetown Board of Health warned any person who had dinner at the Red Inn at 15 St. St. in Provincetown between April 30 and May 15, that they may have been exposed to hepatitis A and should contact their health care provider.

According to the DPH declaration, the restaurant official of the restaurant who worked during these dates has an infection confirmed by the hepatitis A virus.

Hepatitis has generally varied in gravity, with light cases of two weeks or less and more serious cases lasting four to six weeks or more.

In addition, the DPH said that some people, especially children, may not develop jaundice and can have such a soft disease that it can go unnoticed.

However, the DPH said that even slightly sick people can still be very infectious, and people who fall sick with hepatitis type symptoms should consult a health care provider, even if the symptoms are mild.
