In a revolutionary study, researchers from the Massachusett Massachusetts General Hospital and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical School have confirmed that advanced meditation practices could reverse the biological age of the brain. The two schools are affiliated with Harvard University.

The study focuses on advanced meditators who are retired “Samyama Sadhana” and described it as a recycling course for those who have already followed an 8 -day meditation program called “Samyama”.

Commenting on the results, said Sadhguru, it is wonderful that modern science is able to identify and measure the impact of subjective sciences on the human mechanism. Improving the exuberance and dynamism of the human mechanism will naturally slow down the aging process and the cognitive decline. Each human being must invest in his own mental and physical well-being. We owe this to us, to the people around us and to the generations to come. »»

He reflected the original document which was published by Dr Bala Subramaniam, director, Sadhguru Center for a conscious planet at bidmc, anesthesiology, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Subramaniam wrote: “Our new study in mindfulness (https://dcu.be/emo2o) shows that advanced meditators have a 5.9 -year -old cerebral age! Meditation can hold the key to reverse brain aging. Proud to be part of this revolutionary research. “

The main researchers noted that estimates of “the age of the brain”, which are based on neural patterns during sleep not rem, were significantly lower in the meditation group compared to non-meditators. In some cases, the difference was up to a decade or more. This suggests a strong link between regular meditative practice and preservation or even the rejuvenation of brain health.

According to the document, “this study was a prospective cohort study with a single site (conducted on August 25, 2021 until September 26, 2021) of meditators participating in the retirement” Samyama Sadhana “(September 1 to 5, 2021).”

Two healthy comparison groups and four comparison groups with various degrees of age -related brain pathology are included. Using an electroencephalography of a night, physiological brain-age measures have been derived and subtracted from chronological age, measuring the gap of the age of the apparent brain compared to chronological age, “he said.

These results arise at a time when conversation around brain health and aging is more urgent than ever, especially since neurodegenerative diseases and age -related cognitive decline are on the world. Although previous research has shown the advantages of meditation on stress and well -being, this study is among the first to use a biological marker – the age of the brain, to show a slowdown or a possible inversion of neural aging.

Comments and messages flocked from his disciples and devotees. A user wrote: “A 5.9 year old brain, what an incredible discovery. We are the only ones not to trust our children’s elderly yoga practices, “said another,” so happy to see such articles that confirm what advanced meditators have always experienced.

Another user wrote: “It is wonderful to see that the immense advantages of interior engineering practice are scientifically proven !! At least the most physical. Congratulations to research. The spring advantages that change life will remain not very quantifiable !! ”

The study also stresses that, although more -scale studies are necessary to confirm the long -term effects, the data is so far promising.

This could mark a turning point on how oriental well-being practices and modern neuroscience approach aging. While more and more people are looking for holistic strategies for mental and physical longevity, the mixture of old meditation with modern research could simply contain some of the answers.
