Gwinnett County students awarded during the annual Gawn Georgia …

The students of Gwinnett County public schools won several high -level honors at the 77th Georgia Science & Engineering Fair at the University of Georgia.

The event presented some of the best sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students through the state. At the fair, there were 53 projects, representing more than 20 schools in the county of Gwinnett, qualified for the Fair of the Gwinnett Regional Fair in terms of science, engineering and innovation which was held in February of this year.

More than 100 students from Gwinnett County Public Schools contributed with the best STEM talents in Georgia, winning a number of special prices and better honors.

Recognitions and special awards include:

Linda your excellence in Plant Science Award:

  • Natalia Kurz (GSMST) – Terre de Terre and Phosphorus: an experience in controlled greenhouse.

Nasa Earth System Science Award:

  • Caleb Menghisteraab (Paul Duke Stem HS) – Investigate the impact of amine functionalization on MOF -303.

Naval Science Award:

  • Robert Hall (Jones MS) – New biodegradable bioplastic derived from P. Lobata Invasif,
  • Samantha Caswell (GSMST) – Bioqubits: Advance quantum physics on the biological border
  • Mehek Saha (GSMST) – Geometric optimization of differential tracing models.

American Chemical Society Award for Achievement in Chemistry:

  • Stella Nguyen (North Gwinnett MS) – Stunned to sparkle.

Charter UGA Stock Exchange:

  • Eun Jae Lee (Peachtree Ridge HS) – Boronic acids that E. coli Quorum Sensing.

UGA pharmacy price:

  • Ramin Sarkar (GSMST) – Double potential for anti -hypertensive IAA for AD and Tau modulation.

Best in Category Project Honors

GCPS students were also rewarded in various categories, winning the best of the category project:

  • Junior (MS) Best in Category Project Honors:
  • Stella Nguyen (North Gwinnett MS) – Chemistry
  • Veer Shah (Hull MS) – Integrated systems

Senior (HS) Best in Category Project Honors:

  • Ramin Sarkar (GSMST) – Biochemistry
  • Andrew Guo (GSMST) – Cellular and molecular biology
  • Eun Jae Lee (Peachtree Ridge HS) – Microbiology
  • Mehek Saha (GSMST) – Physics and astronomy
  • Taylor Feggley and Nathon Sanft (Mountain View HS) – Plant Science
  • Zachary Orwin (Secker HS) – Robotics and smart machines
  • Samiel Azaien and Austin Johnson (GSMST) – Software systems

Georgia Science & Engineering Fair Top Ten Grand Award Gainters

  • Samiel Azmaien and Austin Johnson (GSMST) – Optimization of V100 GPU architecture and Markov’s predictive cache
  • Eun Jae Lee (Peachtree Ridge HS) – Silent signals: Boronic acids Quench E. coli

Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair advancements

The following GCPS projects, sponsored by the Gwinnett Régional Science Fair, progressed to participate in the 75th annual Fair of Regeneron International Science & Engineering in Columbus, Ohio, from May 10 to 16. The sponsors of the Gwinnett Regional Sciences Fair paid all students’ expenses.

  • Aditya Arora (Peachtree Ridge HS) – EV Charge: A new approach to EV load infrastructure
  • Samiel Azmaien and Austin Johnson (Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology) – Optimization of V100 GPU architecture and Markov’s predictive cache
  • Kristen Bright (GSMST) – Phage and peptide solutions for biofilm growth in space
  • Bananh Doan (GSMST) – Optimization of the elimination of space debris based on the net shield and whipple
  • Joyce Lee (Peachtree Ridge HS)-N-3-Hydroxyphenyl Alkanamide for crisis management
  • Eun Jae Lee (Peachtree Ridge HS) – Silent signals: Boronic acids Quench E. coli

The Director of Sciences of the GCPS (6-12), Jessica Holden, said that she was proud of the district students.

“The success of these young people testifies to their hard work, their creativity and his passion for science and engineering,” said Holden. “These young innovators have demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge, gains in recognition and experience that will have an impact on future generations. These successes are the result of the partnership between the Division of Education and Learning and the Staff of the College and Secondary GCPS. Together, they offer pedagogical and stimulating and parascolary educational and parascolor educational opportunities. ”
