Fresno, California (KFSN) – Bissetti Ueno-Dasilva is a tiger with many stripes.
It is exactly what the Edison High campus is looking for.
Out of 536 graduates, it is number one. His GPA is so high that it is capped at 4.32.
“She will be the first to rent,” explains Dave Wheeler, sports director of Edison High. “She will only rent herself, she will rent her staff who helped her along the way.”
“Especially the administrator who is here – they are super favorable, and they will guide you on all your dreams and ambitions,” said Bissetti.
His dream is to be a veterinarian.
You will notice that she carries scrubs on the campus. All this is part of his four -year trip to the Edison Biomedical Pathway program.
“It really gave me practical experience before entering college and higher education,” she said.
This experience brought him to the prestigious private universities such as Northwestern and Johns Hopkins.
She finally chose UCLA.
“There are many advantages that accompany it, and I simply could not refuse this offer,” said Bissetti.
It juggles almost everything there is to offer to Edison.
Captain of football, defensive player of the year, major class promotion and mentor of the school’s RISE UP program which strives to increase the representation of black students in the AP and honor courses.
It is a curriculum vitae which earned it the appointment of the school for the B’Nai B’rith price of this year, an annual scholarship granted to the best student-athlete in Fresno for almost 75 years.
“Also capable of representing the hard work that my mother put to rise,” she said.
But the evening of the award ceremony, she could not help thinking about her father.
“I know it would be really happy to see me up there on stage,” she said.
In the summer of 2022, just before his second year, Bisetti’s father, Alfredo, received a diagnosis of stadium pancreatic cancer.
“We couldn’t do anything,” she said.
Less than two months later, Alfredo has died, making all his achievements in the past three years, a bit bitter.
“Not having my father by my side through these moments was really difficult, but knowing that he is watching on me really pushed me through these moments,” she said.
While she is preparing to leave for the UCLA this fall, Bissetti says she knows he will always look.
