Trump draws the best military leaders
President Trump and defense secretary Hegseth announced that they replaced several senior military officials related to the Biden administration.
Washington – The head of the Pentagon sprawling health care system suddenly resigned on Friday a week after the Trump administration served several senior military officers, including the president of the joint staff chiefs.
Lieutenant-General of the Army Telita Crosland, which had supervised the Defense Health Agency, was replaced, according to a statement published by Stephen Ferrara, the deputy assistant defense for health affairs.
The Defense Health Agency gives access to health care for 9.5 million soldiers, their families and retirees.
Ferrara announced in the declaration that Crosland, a family practice doctor, “begins his retirement”.
Last week, the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, dismissed the most senior military officer in the country, the general of the Air Force CQ Brown, a black officer that Hegseth had criticized in a book to support the efforts of diversity. Hegseth also dismissed the lisa Franchetti admissary, the senior naval officer and the best lawyers for each of the armed services.
Ferrara, in a press release, thanked Crosland for her 32 years of service and appointed David Smith as his replacement while a search for his replacement begins. Crosland is a black woman.
