
The Florida State University Nursing College has been recognized as the country’s first health professions program to offer students a complete academic route to the certification of lifestyle medicine.
The honor was announced by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
This distinction guarantees that students enrolled in the medical lifestyle medical track in the college nurse will graduate by having fulfilled all the conditions necessary to pass the certification examination of lifestyle administered by the American BOARD OF LIFESTYLE Medicine.
The realization of this certification indicates the expertise of a professional in the treatment based on evidence, the inversion and the prevention of chronic diseases. Currently, more than 8,000 health professionals worldwide have life -style medicine certifications.
Alicia Craig-Rodriguez, clinical teacher and coordinator of the lifestyle medicine track at FSU College of Nursing, is responsible for supervising the program.
“This important designation demonstrates that the rigorous FSU program is dedicated to providing students with a” deep dive “in education and training in lifestyle,” she said.
The FSU College of Nursing Dean Jing Wang shared its reflections on this achievement.

“Dr. Craig-Rodriguez is a pioneer in lifestyle medicine,” she said. “I am so proud of the work that she and her colleagues have done to ensure such a distinction.”
The lifestyle medicine track is one of the five of graduate students interested in continuing their DNP. The doctoral program in nurse practice is part of the solid higher education program of college, which includes the new mastery of nursing sciences, the country’s first MSN with a concentration in AI applications in the care of health.
