Former Premier of British Columbia Glen Clark returns to the public eye, two years after leaving his post as president of the Jim Pattison Group.
The provincial government announced that Clark has been named president BC Hydro board of directors, succeeding Lori Wanamaker, whose term ends December 31.
Clark resigned as prime minister in 1999 after allegations he accepted favors in the form of free renovations from a man who wanted approval for a casino application.
He was accused of breach of trust but acquitted at a trial in 2002.
The government says in a statement that Clark brings extensive experience in leadership, business relations and resource development to the role from his time as Prime Minister and more than two decades at the helm of the Jim Pattison Group. .
