The endless concession stands Alliance Health Park did not disappoint during The first match on April 15While the Smokies of Knoxville left the diamond with a 5-4 victory against Chattanooga and I left with a renewed love for the baseball and stadium of minor league. It was the experience of fans – and An outdoor mixture by a white -headed pygargue called Lincoln – who stole the show at The new Old City Stadiumwhere there are three bars, three main concession supports, Several specialized food spots And the craft corner, which stands out among a variety of beer stands dispersed in the stadium.
As The Knox News restaurant and retail journalistI visited some of the hot spots in the baseball stadium for food to share my first -hand perspective in the expansive menu of smokies.
Meat and cheese melting a winning combo for Smokies Stadium Chef
Aaron Gonnelly, the executive chief of the stadium, had told me that he was working to build a unique menu and an organized food experience by second or not. He followed his promise.
I caught pork nachos from the concept of Smoque Knox barbecue behind the marble next to the ultra Michelob net bar. Crispy and salty crustiles were stifled in classic nacho and garnished with smoked sopped pork at home.
You can also order an effiloche pork combo tray, which is delivered with homemade fries and beans cooked in the oven, cheese macaroni or cabbage salad. There is also an effiloche pork sandwich and the sundae barbecue, which is served like a bowl of effiloche pork, cabbage salad, oven beans and cheese macaroni.

Many familiar faces, flavors at the new stadium. But the barley pizza went quickly
While I was queuing for a personal pizza of the stand of the bathroom and the pizzeria of the barley, I heard someone scream “Joanna!” Who in this park could know who I am? But they were there, the parents of my roommate, queuing for a bag of popcorn and holding a jar of mason beer in each hand.
Although I only lived in Knoxville four months, I become familiar with more people and places every day. And even if I was only in the 40-minute stadium, the familiarity that comes with ball bites reminded me how much the food is part of America’s favorite hobby.
But before moving on to the real classics of the stadium, the barley pizza seemed to be a fans favorite, selling from the top of the third round (the doors opened at 5.30 p.m. for this 19:30 game). Lesson learned. If this is reproduced, I will simply queue on the Ballpark stinging concession stand on the third line for a fresh slice of pizza with pepperoni or cheese.
The cheapest article in barley: $ 11 cheese sticks Most expensive: $ 13 pizza at the pepperoni
Try Knoxville (not nashville) chicken hot chicken for smokies games
It is a hot chicken sandwich from Nashville with a flair of flavor from eastern Tennessee. The COOP 865 concession point behind marble was speed on the side. I barely put my card back in my wallet before my order placed in my counter.
It was a classic spicy chicken sandwich served on hot bread and bunk with cabbage salad and pickles, all sprinkled in the ranch. Coop 865 also serves a chicken and waffle sandwich based on tender hot chicken breaded with hot honey on soft sugar waffles that serve as bread. Other items include a chicken cheese macaroni and a classic jumbo hot dog.

Balle classics are all around the Alliance Health Park
Although it is a minor league stadium, Covenant Health Park A Shades of Wrigley Field, the domestic stage of the Smokies MLB subsidiary, the Chicago Cubs. The lower balconies of apartment buildings in the left field were filled with fans hoping that Home Run Smokies ball would reach their feet.
But the first home run of the night was affected in the opposite direction. While the crowd applauded the big moment and, more broadly, for the return of the team to Knoxville after 25 years, I caught a basket of fries and a hot dog in the ketchup and mustard. “That’s it,” I told me. “This is what Knoxville baseball is.”
Everything that was missing was peanuts and jack cracker during the seventh round. All the favorites of the stadium, from nachos with popcorn with ice cream, were available among the three main concession stands.
Kodak’s snow cones are starting the Knoxville stadium
What is the world a plush snow cone? If you went to the Smokies games in Kodak, you may know the answer. Smoky Mountain Snow was a shaved ice spot in the Stadium of the Selvier Comté which now has several stands at Covenant Health Park.
I caught a little one for me and I enjoyed a layer of shaved ice and a scoop of ice lined with a second layer of shaved ice. While I was told to never eat yellow snow, I sacrificed all my instincts from Idaho for the wedding cake syrup and tried a yellow snow cone.
I then made my way to the MODELO WATERING FOLE In the left field to play a corn hole and a ping-pong.
Smoky Mountain Snow the cheapest article: $ 6 small snow cone Most expensive: Unlimited cone of $ 16
A Mexican canteen and chicago style hot dogs
There were too many food options for me to try them all before the smokies left with their first home victory during their first evening. I missed a few food stands, such as the Mexican Cantina serving street tacos and flawless Franks for Hot-Dogs in Chicago style, a nod to Cubs.
The cheapest article Cantina: $ 11 of effiloche pork or street tacos Most expensive: $ 13 South Knox Nachos
FRANKS OF FAIR BALL: $ 8 chicago style hot dog in tomato layers, onions, peppers, mustard, delight and a pickle lance
On April 15 was only the beginning, and there are many more stadium bites (and smoke victories) to enjoy the Covenant Health Park.
