FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) – Flint students were encouraged by watching an advanced screening of the new film “The Fire Inside” on Christmas Eve.
The film tells the story of Claressa Shields, a boxing champion from Flint, and her journey to becoming the first American boxer to win gold medals in consecutive Olympic Games.
Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley and State Rep. Cynthia Neeley invited a group of local children to see the film at Cinemark Flint West 14 in Flint Township.
“The Fire Inside” was officially released in theaters on Christmas Day.
