First on Fox: As a Vermont senator Bernie Sanders Continue to travel across the country during its “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, while defending its use of private jets to do so, a group of energy guard dog has calculated the real range of carbon emissions that its flights have issued.
During the 16 stops on the tour, which Sanders launched with the help of progressive representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, her private jet issued a total of 62.15 tonnes, or metric tons, carbon dioxide, according to an estimate of Power the Future.
To put this in perspective, Power the Future said in a press release That the emissions equivalent to burn 62,600 pounds of coal, which leads to a gas SUV at 150,000 miles, fueling each house in the hometown of Sanders in Burlington, Vermont, for weeks and propel nine American houses for an entire year …Learn more
