Breaststroke Entertainment (recently renamed Fathom Events) called on Eric Beckerformer long-time news chief at Starz, as head of communications.
He will report to Vice President of Marketing Shannah Miller and will be responsible for overseeing all of the company’s external communications activities, including strategic media relations, corporate communications and advertising campaign programming. He replaces Colette Carey, who left the group at the end of last year.
Becker spent more than 18 years at Starz from the late 1990s until 2017 after Lionsgate acquired the pay TV network, serving as senior vice president of corporate communications. Subsequently, he ran his own public relations consultancy, Becker PR, working primarily on behalf of media, entertainment and technology companies. After Starz, he also worked as a senior vice president at ICR, a strategic communications consulting firm.
