FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WPMI) – UPDATE
The Mobile Police Bomb Squad and an Orange Beach K9 team cleared a downtown business and found no explosive devices. The city center is currently reopened. The city’s annual New Year celebration will continue as planned.

Fairhope officers are cordoning off a portion of downtown Fairhope due to a threat to a local business using an explosive device.
The city received this threat via an online service request form.
Currently, there is no evidence beyond the threat itself; however, officers are following protocol as a precaution.
The streets closed at this time are:
- Fairhope Avenue, from Church Street to the section
- Avenue de la Mare
