Boone, NC – This fall, students in Appalachian State University Appalachian will have the opportunity to pursue new concentrations of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the university control programs business administration And Applied data analysis – both offered by the world recognized at the national level Walker College of Business. The introduction of AI concentrations is a collaboration effort in several departments of the Walker College of Business, offering an interdisciplinary approach to AI education. Thanks to new concentrations, students will explore decision -making, strategy and governance led by AI, acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to stimulate community and economic impact by IA -based innovation.
“The AI is reshaping the industries and business leaders with an expertise in AI are increasingly requested,” said Dr. Jason Xiong, Doyen Associate of Advanced Business Studies at the Walker College of Business and Associate Professor at College IT information systems department. “The AIP concentrations of the APP State will prepare students to exploit the potential of the AI to stimulate commercial success while retaining a strong ethical basis and a global perspective.”

From this fall, all students of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics (MSADA) programs, whatever their concentration chosen, will take applied AI and quantitative business methods – a basic course equipping students with IA knowledge and skills.
“By integrating AI in the higher and elective trade courses, MBA and MSADA programs now offer students unrivaled opportunities to explore the impact of AI in various commercial fields,” said Xiong.
Graduate students who continue concentration in AI in the MBA or MSADA program can take a wide range of elective courses to acquire a complete understanding of the role of AI in business, in particular:
- AI applications in business, which focuses on AI as a transformer tool, exploring practical applications, strategic integration and ethical considerations through case studies and simulations.
- Ethics, policy and governance in AI, which examines the ethical and regulatory challenges associated with AI, in particular data confidentiality, algorithmic biases and compliance, preparing students to navigate in IA governance issues.
- The strategic brand image in the field of AI, which explores how AI influences consumer behavior, marketing strategies and brand positioning, offering students on practical experience with brand techniques focused on AI.
- Current problems of technology and AIS: Innovative AI solutions for business and accounting professionals, which analyzes emerging AI solutions adapted to commercial operations, accounting and finance, emphasizing automation and decision -making led by AI.
- Global blockchain and AI applications for companies, which gives an overview of the convergence of AI and blockchain technologies on global markets, highlighting the applications of the transparency of the supply chain, financial inclusion and predictive analysis.
