The Adirondack Park faces many challenges: linked to water, plant and animal life, as well as the lifestyle of those who live and work there. Climate change and the severe storms it creates further threaten many aspects of the park, making areas uninhabitable for some species or damaging the infrastructure that people depend on.
On this episode of Deeper shade of green, Adirondack Council Executive Director Rocky Aguirre details some of the threats, while discussing initiatives to protect the Adirondacks, getting people more interested in preservation, and suggesting how diversity and smart development can help.
The music for this episode of Deeper Shade of Green comes from Syracuse-based ESP jazz groupthe song is Reach.
