Punxsutawney Phil may have called for a longer winter this year, but at least a place of music pushes early flowering. And at least an outdoor event will challenge mother nature and its sometimes lower and rainfall way. And, unfortunately, another bad news.
Hail
One of the most visible and fervent live music supporters in the Airs Valley has died recently. Scott Hales was one of the first people that musicians would learn from; He was the guy still sitting quietly, enjoying their offers. Often seen with her camera recording local history as it took place, Hales loved this place and his musical community.
A melodious tribute to Scott Hales will take place at the Starling Bar on Wednesday April 16 at 8 p.m., we can expect a crowded scene, honoring this kind and generous man.
Jack London Lodge
Good people from Jack London Lodge have a super full live music program this season. Their live music season started last week when Jon Williams opened the scene inside the Wolf House restaurant, the comfortable space where music should be offered until it warms well in May.
There will be a full bar and complete menus available for music lovers gathered in the room with “large image windows with a beautiful view of Sonoma Creek”, according to the reservation agent and unofficial mayor of the Hamlet, Pat Carlin .
The next musical acts are Brandon Earley (2/27), Dan Martin (3/6) and the local favorites Jaydub & Dino (3/13). Their website is jacklondonlodge.com

After the closed windows of last October and last November, Murphy’s Irish pub brings back “The Weir” for three other shows on March 6, 9 and 13. The story of McPherson takes place inside the small advertising of a city with a single-pub in the rural regions of Ireland.
The cast consists of Bob Smith, Phillip Sales, Brad Bernard, Kate Drury and Chris Wall. The very occasional language of the play is not suitable for young audiences.
Tickets are available via Brown paper ticketsAnd there is an available dinner option.
Central Bluegrass
A short walk off our island can put you in Sebastopol. There, inside the Community Cultural Center of Sebastopol, the spotlights will be on the Bluegrass when the Center will host the Festival of Bluegrass and Folk of the Comté de Sonoma on Saturday March 8. With an hour from start to noon, the Twangy Hauts sounds go to the center like the Blue Moon made on Kentucky. Yes, just like that.
The organizers Laurie Lewis and Kathy Kallick, who also occur at 6 pm, celebrate International Women’s Day and 50 years of “Cali Bluegrass” during this event.
In addition to Lewis and Kallick, the Lonesome Ace String Band is in the tap, just like Broken Compass Bluegrass, late for the train, Salty Sally, Manning Music and Mission Blue. There will also be workshops offered and scrambling (not the kind of jelly) all day.
Lewis and Kallick are very talented. The two are Grammy winners and the two have won international Music Association awards.
The Sebastopol community center is located at 390 Morris Street. More information at sonomabluegrassfolk.org
Alameda Pulga
A little further from our island, and on another island just off the coast of Oakland, Rock and Roll lovers can attend the Rock and Roll flea market on Sunday March 2. Under the hope that the dry sky, the faction of Alameda welcomes all day, event at all ages. We will find discs, musical memories, vintage clothes, musical instruments, tiki / hawaiiana, handmade jewelry, and more.
You may well see that 1955 Gibson J45 that you were looking for in the brasserie located at 2501 Monarch Street.
BTW, Alameda is the most populous island (around 74,000) on the continental United States outside the New York region.
