Wetumpka, ala. (Wsfa) – Wetumpka will soon have a new place to eat and a new place for family fun.
The city announced Tuesday that “”The goat bar and the grill“” And “Nexgen Fun Park” are the latest additions to the next development of downtown River. The announcement comes after Tractor Supply Co. was announced as the first company to call River Town Center Home.
Dirt travels to the shopping center, and it should open its doors in 2026. According to Mayor Jerry Willis, a dozen companies will occupy the space of around 45 acres, and other announcements are expected next week.
“We have commitments on the majority of them, we have letters of intention on the majority of them, perhaps one or two that we have not yet closed,” said Willis.
The city has bought and developed the land, and now they recover this money by selling the lots.
“Once it is done, it will not cost taxpayers a penny,” said Willis. “We have done so in a way that we can reduce this property and encourage you to want to come here and be part of what we do.”
Development will be on a privileged field. It is about half a million west of the Coosa river, and on the other side of the street is the popular Wetumpka sports complex.
