Press release > Entergy New Orleans announces your future scholarship to support students in HBCUS technology

For immediate release

03/26/2025

Entergy New Orleans is proud to announce the launch of its Power Your Future scholarship program, designed to support current undergraduate students who are pursuing eligible technological majors who plan to continue their studies in historically black colleges or universities, or minority service establishments within the Orleans parish. Selected beneficiaries will receive a scholarship of $ 5,000, with up to 20 scholarships available from Entergy shareholders’ funds.

Administered by Bourship America®, the largest manager in the country of scholarships and education support programs, the power of your future scholarship is part of the wider initiative of Entergy Corporation, The power of prosperity. This initiative is designed to provide students and their families free access to financial resources that promote the success of HBCU students to support poorly served communities and to promote the creation of generational wealth.

As part of this commitment, Entergy has prompted 20 million dollars over 10 years to raise and empower HBCU and their students in its service area in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. These funds will support improved education programs, career preparation and labor development at HBCUS.

“Entergy New Orleans is delighted to offer power your future scholarship as a means of allowing the next generation of technological leaders,” said Deanna Rodriguez, president and chief executive officer of Entergy New Orleans. “By supporting students in their quest for higher education in HBCUs and minority establishments, we invest in the innovative future for our communities in the major New Orleans region.”

Interested students must submit their requests by the deadline of April 9. The application process includes the submission of the required equipment as specified by Bourship America.

For more information on the power of your future scholarship, including the details of the application and the eligibility conditions, visit here.
