THE City of Grande Prairie issued an emergency alert on Monday afternoon due to a service failure at 911 in the municipality of northern Alberta.
“Large meadow 911 is currently experiencing technical difficulties and is not available,” said city officials. “Telus investigation.
“This failure affects the possibility of calling 911 on mobile phones and fixed lines. Residents of the affected area may not be able to pass during the composition of the 911. ”
The officials said More than a dozen other municipalities in northwest Alberta have also received the alert.

The alert was issued at 12:27 p.m.
People who cannot access 911 properly are invited to stay at stake if they hear a recorded message, try their calls if they are disconnected and physically go to local emergency service providers such as the RCMP, firefighters and paramedical paramedics.
Residents of the region who need emergency services can also try to call 780-538-0393 for fire services, 780-624-3911 for emergency medical services and 780-310-7267 for police emergencies.
Monday 3:45 p.m. Monday, the city of Grande Prairie had not provided an update since the publication of the alert earlier in the afternoon.
