Electronic arts (also known as EA) has announced that it cancels its Black panther game And close the games of Cliffhanger Studio. In addition, the company cuts the staff of its mobile and power plant teams.
What did EA said about the closing of Cliffhanger studios?
According to IGN, an email from the president of EA Entertainment, Laura Miele, was sent to the staff concerning the cancellation and closing of studio. Miele writes that this change, as well as other recent layoffs which have seen around 300 roles made redundant, are “refining our concentration and putting our creative energy behind the most important growth opportunities”. E-mail also confirms that EA is trying to place those affected by layoffs in other roles.
“These decisions are difficult,” wrote Miele. “They affect the people we worked with, learned and shared real moments. We do everything we can to support them – including the search for opportunities within EA, where we have managed to help people land in new roles. ”
Miele’s email also indicates that it will continue to focus on Battlefield, The Sims, Skate and Apex Legends franchises. The work will continue on the Iron Man game in motivating, the next entry into the Star Wars series: Jedi and the next Bioware Mass Effect game.
E-mail does not mention EA SPORTS. IGN mentions that since EA Sports is a separate division and that Miele directs EA Entertainment, the absence makes sense. IGN also declares that EA Sports is not affected by these changes.
