It is a decision that frustrated many fans and players: four years ago, the Elmonton Elks Licensed Equipment Manager Dwayne Mandrusiak.
He was part of the Edmonton team which won five Gray-Cup Cup championships in the late 1970s and the early 1980s.
Mandrusiak was respected in the circles of the LCF for pride and the details he put in his work.
He also acquired a reputation for a community spirit, helping with the equipment of minor and secondary football teams.

After being dismissed, Mandrusiak joined the association of LCF players on Friday as a security advisor in equipment in 2021.
The CFLPA said that it planned to use the expertise and experience of Mandrusiak in its quest to improve equipment standards, which in turn will benefit health and safety.
