Operational financing comes from subsidies via Glos, with assistance at local bull work on the water of the research unit on the peaches of Nysdec Lake Erie in Dunkirk.

In short, the Glos group provides end -to -end data services that support science, policy, management and industry in the Great Lakes. Most importantly, for fishermen and boaters, buoy investments provide critical data such as water, wind, waves, water flow models, etc.
One of the most essential things for fishermen and boaters is water temperature, wind and waves. Above this, the buoy provides a water temperature every two meters high at the bottom in 90 feet of water (where it is anchored). We can identify the location of the thermocline (depth) and the limnology of the lake. Golden schools are generally located very close to the thermocline.

Since this weekend, the Dunkirk buoy has not yet been installed for 2025. The state of the Great Lakes Center Suny Buffalo indicated that it was ready for the deployment at the beginning of next week – if the wind forecast allows.
