Cary, NC – Duke Health will innovate today in a new establishment which adds hospital services to its existing Duke Health Cary Location, offering access to health care closer to houses and workplaces of the population rapidly growing from the community.
The new installation will include the first phase of a new hospital campus for hospitalized patients, including emergency service, surgical services, imaging and a small number of hospitalized patients, as well as gastrointestinal endoscopy, cancer care and other infusion services in the same building. The building of these services should be completed in 2027.
“At Duke Health, we strive to provide hope, health and healing by bringing high -quality care for the place where our patients live and work,” said Craig Albanese, MD, Director General of Duke University Health System. “Cary, and the wider community of Wake County, is one of the quickest areas in North Carolina. We want to grow together by offering better access to world class care than Duke Health is known. ”
The new hospital services are part of a larger plan for the 85 -acres campus at Duke Health Cary. The health system has already received state approval for 40 hospital beds on site. When fully built, the Cary Hospital campus should employ around 1,600 people.
“In 2022, we were delighted to open Duke Health Cary with several clinics, including primary care, pediatric care and urgent care,” said Morgan Jones, Director of Strategy for Duke University Health System. “This next campus phase offers a practical option for emergency care and care for hospitalized patients. We plan to add more specialized services in the future to complete the needs of the local community. As a live work care campus, Duke Health Cary will offer high -quality and practical health care in a dynamic community for mixed use and will lead to later economic development. ”
For Cary residents who need hospital services and emergency care, these new services will reduce travel time, which shows that studies save lives. Providing cary residents with practical and accessible care is aligned with the objectives of Duke University Health System for our patients, in particular:
- Membership improvement: Reduced journey time can improve the ability of patients to comply with treatment calendars.
- Drop in financial burden: The decrease in travel costs can alleviate financial pressure on patients and their families.
- Improved quality of life: Less time spent traveling allows patients for more time for rest and recovery, potentially improving overall health.
