The West End of Veterans Memorial Boulevard sees a wave of new businesses, including the latest Drew Brees company, called Surge Entertainment Center.
The northwest corner of Lafreniere park in Metairie also houses a Tacos del del RecommenéNew pickles and a Chuck E. cheese., Among other restaurants and retail stores. And the New Rumba Caribbean Restaurant opened a mile of distance this spring.
“The whole corridor is experiencing growth, and it’s exciting to see,” said Arita Bohanan, member of the parish council, in a press release.
Surge kept its big opening on May 17, in a new space which is double the size of the old Surge adventure park, which was mainly a trampoline park which closed last year. The Trampoline Sky Zone park is located on the north side of the veterans.
The new Surge entertainment center offers karts, bowling alley, sports simulators, a mini golf course, a laser label and an inflatable rebound house for young children.
“This location will change the situation for the community,” said Darren Balsamo, co -owner and founder, in a statement announcing the company. “We are committed to providing a leading entertainment experience that is aimed at all ages, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store.”
Drew Brees is a partner of the company who also has locations through Louisiana as well as Florida, Alabama, Virginia, North Carolina and Oklahoma City.
His company Sister opened Pickle N Pin in October, just in front of the Surge car park, with pickleball and less known games like Padel, Duckpin Bowling and Ax Throwing.
Tacos del Cartel opened its doors Earlier this month with a maximalist, the Miami style renovation at a distance from the overvoltage. And just down veterans, Rumba opened in March With large interior and outdoor fairs and a beach atmosphere.
Bohanan said that the parish was also about to start working on the Soniat Greenway Project, a 12-foot-wide multi-purpose path with a lighting that extends from West Napoleon to Veterans Boulevard along the canal, which takes place behind the companies of David Drive.
