The US General Services Administration saved $ 1 million by converting several decades of information storage, the Ministry of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said on Friday.
In an article on X, DOGE said that the agency, which provides office spaces, transport and other basic services in federal agencies, saved money by converting 14,000 magnetic bands into permanent modern digital records.
This decision is part of the mission of the group led by Elon Musk to get rid of unnecessary public spending.

Earlier this week, the group said Department of Veterans Combators (VA) paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a month for website changes before canceling the contract and taking a member of the internal staff.
During combing via charges and data charges, DOGE discovered a previous contract by AV for the maintenance of its website.
