With the opportunity to finish the Blues in Saint-Louis, the Winnipeg jets needed to avoid a rehearsal of the road performance which killed them in matches 3 and 4 in Missouri.

Instead, it is already seen as a terrible section in the second period condemned the jets in a 5-2 defeat which sends the series to a winner match 7 Sunday in Winnipeg.

The Blues scored four times in the second period in a period of only 5:23 while St. Louis won his 15th consecutive home game to avoid elimination.

“A carbon copy of what happened here in match 4,” said head coach Scott Arniel. “Played very well. Playing very hard for 30 minutes, 33 minutes and a terrible change of line.

“We got into the foot.

The jets were upgraded 17-5 in the three games of the program Me State. The jets were surpassed 8-2 in the opening period of match 6 and at one point in the match, a 10-minute section without recording a shot on the goal.

“They got this second and then it’s just a bit, things got carried away,” said striker Cole Perfetti who scored his first goal in the career in defeat. “We just lost our match for 4 to 5 minutes and they passed a few washers and they found the bottom of the net and it was frustrating. It happened a few times this series where we fell asleep for a few minutes and they jumped on it.”

The jets have never won a match 6 and now have 0-3 all the time in the sixth game of the series.

Mark Scheifele missed the match with an uncompromising injury, but Nikolaj Ehlers was back in the alignment for his series beginnings after missing almost three weeks.

“I felt good and wanted to be there,” said Ehlers. “You want to be there from the start, but it’s a strong intensity and not having played a game for some time, it’s not the easiest, but I thought I had managed to pass the game fairly well and that I felt good.”

Connor Hellebuyck was withdrawn from the match after the second period after granting five goals on 23 shots. It was the third time in the series he was pulled for Eric Comrie.

“Tonight did not concern Connor,” said Arniel. “Tonight, we implodged in front of him. Now it’s a force test in a match.

“I have a lot of confidence in our group, not just Helly. I have a lot of confidence in our group. You win a hockey match, you go to the next round. ”

The home team won the six games in the series and the jets hope that the trend will continue with their very first NHL match 7 on home ice on Sunday.

“We had a loss like that in match 4 and we went home and did the work in match 5,” said Perfetti. “Tomorrow, the sun will get up. It will be a new day and we will have to focus on match 7.”

It was not exactly the start that the jets were looking for when the blues opened the 6:05 score in the game thanks to a strange.

Philip Bruberg partially attracted to a single shooter in the slit, but the out -of -speed shooting bowed in the net while Connor Hellebuyck was hit. Pavel Buchnevich was in the fold while the shot was taken but did not contact Hellebuyck until Dylan Samberg pushes Buchnevich, the jets therefore decide not to challenge the game for the interference of goalkeeper.

The blues had two power play looks in the first to try to develop their lead, but Hellebuyck was held, making another trickery paddle safeguard at the end of the period to keep his team in one.

Winnipeg also experienced a power game in the first but failed to generate quality looks, which was the case for the period as a whole because they were surpassed 8-2 by the Blues in the first 20 minutes.

But they went out by flying in the second period and thought they had equalized the match within a minute.

Justink Faulk turned the washer right outside the Blues area, leading to an excellent net journey by Morgan Barron whom he finished by putting him in front of Jordan Binnington. But the jets were offside on the game, so a challenge to the coach and a quick examination removed the goal of the board of directors.

The jets continued to push at the start of the period, leading to a power game which they took advantage of. Shortly after winning the playing, the washer ended up on the Bask de Perfetti low. He tried to center the washer, but he struck the skate of a blues and returned to him, leading to a race and Perfetti hit the air washer and in the net for his first career goal.

Winnipeg was definitely the best team for the first half of the period, but everything took place quickly during the second half of the frame.

With about nine minutes to play, Broberg wore the washer in the jets area and below the goal line before stopping on a penny and pass the washer in front of Nathan Walker, who was parked in front of the fold when she was surrounded by players of the jets who did not cover it. Walker overturned it at home to do it 2-1.

Barely 53 seconds later, a disaster struck again while Brayden Schenn beat Hellebuyck with a wrist not excluded from the race to reach 3-1, a bad goal for the Hart trophy finalist.

The right batter continued at 1:13 AM later when Cam Fowler beat Hellebuyck from the point through a body maze to do so 4-1, and according to Sportsnet statistics, Hellebuyck became the third goalkeeper in NHL history to grant four or more goals in seven consecutive games on the road.

The blues were not made there, which made it 5-1 with 3:03 to go in the second. The jets returned the washer on their own side, leading to an Alexey tortle shot from the slit which beat Hellebuyck, capping a series of four goals in 5:23 which sank the hopes of Winnipeg.

Winnipeg exceeded 10-0 in the last ten minutes of the period while the game was completely tilted against them, leading to Hellebucyck to start the third.

As the jets did in match 3, the jets scored a game of power in time of garbage in the third period while Nino Niederreiter hit a loose puck in the fold at 8:54 am.

Desperate for a late thrust, the jets pulled the comrade for an additional striker with 4:28 to go and 28 seconds later, Robert Thomas was called to a high sticking, giving the jets a 6 against 4 which they could not take advantage of when the Blues killed the penalty and reached the finish line with 5-2 victory.

In three games to St. Louis, Hellebuyck returned 16 goals on 66 shots. Comrie made four relief stops.

Binnington won the victory, his 14th consecutive on the home ice dating from the regular season, stretching 21 shots.

Everything will be summed up in a match 7 Sunday evening in Winnipeg, which will be the second match 7 in the history of the franchise after the jets beat Nashville in the second round in 2018.

It will also be the first NHL match 7 to have ever played in the city because the original jets have never welcomed one, playing in two games 7 on the road. The jets welcomed a WHA Game 7 in 1977, beating the San Diego Mariners 7-3 in the decisive game of their quarter-final series.

Sunday of action begins just after 6 p.m. with a pre-match cover on 680 CJOB from 4 p.m.
