Berea – Life has come Brown quarter recruit Dillon Gabriel Quick in the last 50 days.
Gabriel was drafted by Cleveland in the third round (n ° 94 in total) on April 25. Since then, there has been a minicamp recruit, the voluntary off-season program, OTA, a contract to sign and, more recently, a three-day mini-camp.
While the 24 -year -old was going through all of this, there was also a new manual to learn. He also had to meet new teammates, in particular new wide receivers and tight ends, while being judged in a Quarty quarter competition which included another choice of recruit recovery Sheder SandersFormer draft choice in the first round Kenny Pickett and a veteran of the 40 -year -old NFL and 18 with a most useful player of the Super Bowl in his name JOE FLACCO.
It is a lot put on the plate of Gabriel – and Sanders – in a very short time. That is to say, in itself the greatest challenge about this period.
“I think that being able to adapt as quickly as possible,” said Gabriel during Minicamp on June 10. “I think it is a challenge for anyone. There is a time in what you have to work, but I will just be present and not be able to dwell on a regression or become too high with progression and completely Keel throughout this day. So I will just stay in balance in this way, but everyone, but everything that is approaching this.”
The last three weeks have been seen as much as the two recruited neighborhood plates as since their writing. This is because the last three weeks have taken what has been learned from their playing books and meetings and forced them to execute these pieces on the field.
During the recently concluded minicamp, Gabriel received as much work as he probably did it in any section of his still infantile NFL career. Between seven against seven, modified from Sept-seven exercises and 11 against 11, only Pickett may have received as many representatives as Gabriel.
“This is the challenge, but as a competitor, you enter the challenge and do it the front,” said Gabriel. “This is also what you appreciate in the game. I think that everyone in this game considers itself as entries and that self -belief is the reason why many guys are in the NFL. So you continue to improve, continue to challenge yourself, and not many people love it, but failure creates growth, but we live in a business based on production.”
This is where Gabriel said that the balance had to come for him. He understands that it always seems to be on the now when it comes to what people want to see by a quarter -Arrière – or really someone else – so that forces him to adopt a certain approach to all this.
The approach is not to give in to the temptation to try to run figuratively before walking.
“You like to stay on processes,” said Gabriel. “I think that for many people, it is a company based on results, so don’t be mistaken, but you have to have a process behind to be able to create consistent results. And I think it is a mentality in the microwave or that Amazon’s lifestyle of wanting it right away, that is not the case. For you to fall on the process, then authorize that to have consistent results.”
This includes what happened during the mini-camp. Gabriel received representatives in 11 against 11 not only with the Browns offensive group – including the whole offensive line, the large receiver Jerry Jeudy and the tight winger David Njoku – but also against the defensive group n ° 1.
For Gabriel, it also meant that Myles Garrett, a whole-Pro-Pro-Pro, has for him. This also meant throwing in the windows closing quickly because of the Denzel Ward corner half.
Stop by his approach, however, means maximizing each representative, it doesn’t matter who else is on the ground with him.
“Yeah, I think you would like to say that you are not changing the circumstances,” said Gabriel. “I try to approach myself every day like that and control what you can. And it is ultimately your best at that time. And the best competitors I am here were the best to be present.”
