A sports emporium, a bowling alley and a fast fashionable clothing retailer are the future planned occupants of the Sears store vacant for a long time at the Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi.
The director general of the shopping center said on Tuesday, May 27, that construction work already seems to be underway to transform the old Sears into three new attractions: a Dick Sports House, a bowling alley and an arcade of Round1, and an Ireland clothing retailer known as Primark.
Dick’s House of Sport is a branching of Dick Sports items that have various game surfaces and areas to try goods, including a climbing wall, a race track, multi-sport striker and a golf simulator.
Dick plans to occupy the majority of the lower level of the former Sears, according to the plans of the site subject to the city. It would also create an outdoor activity space with a lawn field and a race track, which, during the colder months, would have the capacity to convert to an ice rink.
Meanwhile, the upper level of the vacant sears must be divided between Round1 and the Primark store.
The Sears at the twelve Oaks Mall Closed in 2019 And the empty building belongs to Transformco, a company who owns the locations of old and current Sears.
Scott Lofton, Managing Director of Twelve Oaks Mall, told Free Press that it was his understanding that Primark and Round1 could open in the first half of 2026, with the toothed cock sports in the fourth quarter of 2026.
“It will be quite the place,” said Lofton. “We can’t wait for them to open.”
The representatives of Dick’s and Transformco could not be reached immediately to comment on May 27.
During a meeting in April of the Novi planning committee, a Dick representative said that they had 21 locations in the Sports Chamber in the United States and hoped to go to this number to 36 by the end of this year. The retailer’s website does not list any current House of Sport location in Michigan.
