The Summer Program at the start of a career (SEC) supports researchers at the start of their career during short and mid-term visits to the Future Digital Environment during the summer months. Digital Futures is an interdisciplinary research center that explores and develops digital technologies in order to generate knowledge and innovation that lead to global societal changes.

“It’s a big problem for me,” said Castellanos-Reyes. “KTH is a very prestigious university and be invited to KTH is really going on that what I do is at the forefront of research and guarantees the quality of my work.”
As part of the program, Castellanos-Reyes will spend two months in Sweden and will have the opportunity to work alongside Kth Professor Associate Stefan Stenbomwhose work focuses on digital learning. The own research of Castellanos-Reyes focuses on online learning with a specific emphasis on support for the social presence of online learners.

Castellanos-Reyes and Stenbom will collaborate in the writing of a theoretical article based on their collective work in online learning and collaborate with other junior teachers who focus on teaching in online learning. In addition, she was invited to participate as a guest speaker in a research consortium with Stenbom during her stay in Sweden.

“Not only will this occasion give me a lot of exhibition in my career as a member of the Junior faculty, but that will give me an exhibition to what other researchers do in other parts of the world, and I am very excited about it,” said Castellanos-Reyes.
