Jason Smith had not felt joy for years.

“ Happiness was not part of my daily life ”, the 55 -year -old man, from Surrey, near Londontells Daily Mail Australia.

Jason was in poor health, switching the balance to 98 kg (216 pounds or 15th 6 pounds). Unfit, depressed and lacking in energy, he felt exhausted playing with his 10 -year -old son and often finished the games as quickly as possible so that he could stop on the sofa.

He was also drinking too much.

“I probably drank three glasses of wine a day – preparing my meal, while eating my meal and after my meal,” admits Dave.

“I felt angry, tired, depressed and bored.

Jason’s wife knew he was secretly struggling, but he was able to hide the full extent of his misery.

Things became so bad that he went to see his doctor who led a series of tests.

Jason received a diagnosis of depression and put the antidepressant cipramil. He was also prescribed Ramipril for high blood pressure (hypertension) and Atorvastatin for high cholesterol, and doctors said they had to monitor their foie gras.

He knew something had to change.

“These health challenges did not, however, pushed me out of my old lifestyle; It was not the threat of these health problems. It was rather the promise of something better, ”he says.

In January 2019, an Instagram post finally prompted it to the action.

“I saw an article of a guy named Dave, showing a photo of Bilbo Baggins crossing the county with a smile on his face and the words” I go in an adventure “.

“Under the photo, Dave had listed everything he was going to do during his day – cycling, going to run – all these things that seemed fun.

“The post embodies everything I was not and showed everything I wanted. I wanted this feeling. I wanted to go on an adventure. I just knew I could do that, I could be better, more active, happier and live a better life.

“I went to run that day – which was more a walk because I was too unfit to run – but it was a start.

“I remember finishing this day thinking:” That’s it, I changed. “Obviously, my physical appearance had not changed, but I knew that my new life had started.

The next thing Jason has been done was downloading an application entitled Le Drinking and Read ‘Quet-Lit’ Book the FreePECTEFY Joy to be sober.

‘Stop drinking alcoholIn particular the wine, was a large part of my trip, ” adds.

The word “joy” in the title of this book was something that Jason was really stuck, since it was something that he had not experienced for a long time.

Jason wrote a description of what a person who felt joy and who made an adventure would be – the things she would do and would not do.

“I used it as a guide to make the changes. For example, they would not drink alcohol or ate ultra-transformed foods; Instead, they would be energetic and exercise.

One by one, he began to implement the changes and the positive effect on his mental health was rapid and dramatic.

“When you change your physical form, your mental health is improving. I was more positive, happier, more creative, I wanted to do more, and I wanted to be more. When my son had homework, I could be present, with a clear spirit and a positive perspective to encourage him.

Before that day in January, Jason said that every evening the meal included fries.

“ kyiv chicken and chips, pie and fries, steak and fries – many of these meals have been prepared and very transformed. But I liked the taste and they were easy.

Jason began to think about the quality of the food he consumed. Rather than considering it as a convenience, he considered there as fuel.

“I started to eat more protein, more natural food, a lot of salmon, turkey, occasional steak with something like spinach or roasted Mediterranean vegetables,” he said.

He also cut the processed foods, reduces his carbohydrate intake and found a non -alcoholic drink to replace his wine habit.

After four months of constant exercise, improving nutrition and alcohol abstinence, Jason returned to the same doctor who had prescribed a litany of drugs for his various health problems.

“The first thing she said was:” Really well done, it’s incredible what you could achieve. “”

Jason had lost 25 kg (55 pounds or almost 4th), all of his health markers had improved, and he was able to get out of all his drugs – including antidepressants.

The best part, however, was how his relationship with his son improved.

“What has changed very quickly is the quality of the time I was able to spend with him,” said Jason.

“I was more dynamic, I suggested doing more activities and we played a lot of cricket in the garden. I became a better husband, best father, I started enjoying life and smiling again.

Improving Jason’s health even led to a career change.

“At the gymnasium, I saw a lady of around 60 difficulties on one of the machines. The personal coach she paid was more interested in chatting with younger women from the gymnasium. I remember thinking: “It’s so false, there must be a better way.” ”

Jason renounced his business job in marketing and qualified as a personal coach and nutritional advisor, launching his business in the forties in September 2020.

Now Jason’s mission is to help men and middle -aged women start and maintain a fitness course that will improve all areas of their lives.
