An “Othello” renewal, with Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, has marked history.
Production at the Barrymore Theater is now Broadway’s most profitable game of all time, generating $ 2.8 million with eight preview performances. He exceeded a record held by “Harry Potter and The Minked Child”, which pulled more than 2.7 million dollars in December 2023, according to Deadline.

Today, 70 years old, Washington first played the role of Othello at the University of Fordham and thought about how the game is different from the role in relation to the age of 22.
“I know much less now. I thought I knew everything at that time! ” He said. “I didn’t really like the game, because I was not wise enough to understand it. Now I understand that it is really a link, you know, that these characters have. He doesn’t like wisely, but too well.”
He and his Costar are delighted with the success of the play.
