Thursday March 27, Jackson Walker Counsel Half Williams Coles Participate in an inspiring conversation by the fireside of women to celebrate the month of women’s history. Hosted by the SMU Dedman Sports and Entertainment Law Association and Fisher Phillips, the event brought together main lawyers in the sport industry to share their stories, professional advice and ideas.
Demi Williams Coles was joined by Jessica Prenall (Big 12 Conference) and Naima Starks (Stinson), with the discussion led by Adam Sloustcher (Fisher Phillips). The panelists have immersed themselves in a range of subjects, to overcome it the unique challenges faced by lawyers in the sports sector with the most urgent problems with which they are currently attacking their professional roles.
The key themes included the importance of establishing relationships and according to its passions in the wide range of opportunities at the link of sports and law. The panelists highlighted the principles of monitoring and practice of authenticity in the establishment of relations as an essential strategies for the progress of career. They also explored the future of sports and the commercial opportunities it presents, as well as means of promoting the advancement of lawyers for women in industry.
This event provided a platform for a significant dialogue and offered valuable information on the evolutionary landscape of women in sports law.
Meet half
Half Williams Coles is a main lawyer in the dispute section of the trial and the call to Jackson Walker. By practicing in our entertainment, digital and sports group, half issues involved the name, image and resemblance of athletes (Nile), admissibility to athletes, defamation, music publication rights, etc. Before Jackson Walker, half served as a litigant and prosecutor and, to date, has managed to have tried more than 20 cases before the Court of State and Federal. Apart from the law, Demi worked in various titles in the sports industry, including currently as a speaker to students athletes and coaches.
