Texans coach DeMeco Ryans is preparing to face the Ravens on Christmas, and he thinks that means he’ll face the best player in the NFL.
Ryans said today that Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is his pick for league MVP.
“Lamar is playing some of the best football he’s ever played,” Ryans said. “He definitely stands out as the best player I’ve seen this year. Are you talking about the MVP? He’s definitely the MVP in my mind for what he does not only play-wise, but throwing the football, accuracy, decision-making. He’s playing incredible ball right now, so he’s going to be a very tough challenge for us this week.
Jackson is second in MVP ratings behind Bills quarterback Josh Allen, but the race for MVP isn’t over. Ryans hopes Jackson doesn’t have the kind of spectacular performance on Christmas Day that could allow him to edge out Allen in the MVP race.
