Representative Chris Deluzio (D-P.) On Sunday called the Democrats fighting against President Trump “not just a good policy” but also a “good policy”.
“I think that wanting to see the Democrats standing when this administration does dangerous things is common sense, and it is not only a good policy, it is a good policy for this country,” Deluzio told Chris Stirewalt from Newsnation on “The Hill Sunday”.
“And once again, I am a guy who believes that we will find common ground when we can, but you have to stand up when it is time to fight for your people,” he added.
Deluzio’s comments follow a internal fracture between Democrats for a financing bill that 10 party members in the Senate voted to move forward on Friday. The head of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.), was one of the members who voted to advance the bill, with the representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, his Democratic Colleague in New York, criticizing him Thursday after saying that he would do it.
“There is a deep feeling of indignation and betrayal,” said journalists Ocasio-Cortese. “And these are not only progressive democrats. This is at all levels – the whole game. »»
Deluzio also called on the “bad” financing bill on Sunday and said that “injured a lot of my community”.
“And I think that democrats in the Senate, when they are not included in negotiations, when they are frozen, when our people will be injured, should stand up,” said Deluzio. “And I think it is not only a question of the Democratic Party, that is what our people expect from us,” he added.
