Danny DuranAn entertainment publicist respected for over 25 years who founded the DDPR charming agency, died Wednesday after an eight -month battle against cancer. He was 58 years old.
Duran began his career in Walt Disney studios, then joined the production company of Sandra Bullock, Fortis Films. Under Brigid Walsh, he managed advertising for Bullock as well as for talents, including Eric Roberts, Bill Pullman, Chris McDonald and Ron Livingston.
In 2000, he founded DDPR, launching the company with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment as a customer. He helped the Division go from VHS to DVD then Blu-ray, supporting the release of titles, including “The Lion King”, “Snow White” and “The Little Mermaid”.
Duran and DDPR have worked with a wide range of films and talent customers over the years, including attractions on the roadside, Savannah Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Disney, Universal and Lionsgate. He also managed personal advertising for Jon Hamm, Beth Grant and other actors, becoming appreciated for his personal approach.
