A project led by First Nations aimed at redeveloping the old building of Hudson’s Bay Co. in downtown Winnipeg to advance reconciliation has doubled the cost.
The organization of southern chiefs claims that the price is currently $ 310 million, more than double the initial estimate of $ 130 million.

The six -story building must be transformed to include 200 affordable dwellings for First Nations citizens, restaurants and office and retail spaces for entrepreneurs.
The original project included a health center offering Western and traditional drugs, but Daniels says it is re -examined due to the cost increase.
Daniels says that the project should be completed in 2028.
