Matt Ziprick said his life had changed about 18 months ago when Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch was hired.
THE Pastor at the Lutheran church in Bethel In Sherwood Park, said he was often confused with the bench boss – and sometimes has the heart to correct the fans.
“I stopped in a service station and the attendant said:” Oh, guy, I thought you were the guy guys “,” Ziprick told Global News.
“Even if he knew that I was not, he always gave me his phone and said that you can speak to my brother, and he said:” Saint-Homme, you like the coach. “”

During the playoffs, Ziprick said that these meetings are more common, noting once when he was in Costco and a table he bought in the cart.
“A foreigner came and helped me recharge them, and looking up and drawing my attention, he said:” Oh, cool, Kris Knoblauch “,” he said.
“I grouped a little because the oilers were in Utah that evening, and I thought:” He will later discover that I am not Kris Knoblauch. »»

Ziprick even made sure that his congregation in Bethel Lutheran knew that he was not coach on the side.
He said in a sermon: “I imagine people who go to Kris Knoblauch and I thank the Sermon Sunday.”
This attention is very fun. Ziprick is a big fan of oilers, and he thinks it’s a great way to celebrate his team.
“We are going … playing for the cup, I have faith.”
