On an educational field trip before winter break, CMS students ventured to Guilford Elementary to participate in a Christmas Science Day, designed to combine festive activities and educational enrichment. The event was aimed at fourth and fifth grade students who engaged in a series of science experiments through six interactive stations.

During the day, the young students created bird feeders out of pine cones, made homemade lava lamps and built catapults, among other activities. CMS students played a central role, helping younger students conduct the experiments and explore the scientific principles behind each project.

This initiative not only served as a hands-on science lesson, but also fostered a spirit of collaboration and mentorship among students. The hands-on approach provided a platform for older students to guide their younger counterparts through complex concepts, highlighting the importance of peer learning and community engagement in educational settings.
