Plattsburgh, NY (WCAX) – The County Health Service of Clinton wants you to keep an eye on the ticks the next time you are outside.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health says that adult ticks are the most common at this time of the year and are in areas such as high herbs, layoffs and small mammal habitats.
She says people should wear long light colored pants nestled in socks and use an approved repellent to keep ticks away.
If a tick is on you, they say it is important to remove it as soon as possible by brushing it or using tweezers.
“Pull it directly upwards.
Flynn says that there were 162 diseases born to ticks recorded in the county of Clinton last year (2024).
