“The oversized Canadian flags (15’x30 ‘) are ordered and will be installed on all the posts in the Town Hall,” she wrote.
The decision to return the flag comes as US President Donald Trump continues threats to annex Canada and make the 51st US state. The White House is also in the middle of a bitter litigation of trade and prices with its neighbor.
These threats have seen the American anthem used at sporting events across the country, including in the game of the 4 nations between the United States and Canada in Montreal.
He also led the Ontario government to prohibit American companies from submission to public contracts and British Columbia to exclude Tesla – led by Trump’s advisor, Elon Musk – Public ceremony programs.
The city of Barrie recently removed the American flags from its facilities, while the canton of West Lincoln did the same.
