Beijing’s ambassador to Canada says China is interested in intensifying trade with Ottawa while the United States continues to continue a world trade war.
Wang Di says Washington should not force Canada to choose between the United States and China because it would destabilize the global economy more.

“We believe that when a country develops relations with another country, it should be beneficial and useful to the relations of all countries among the international community, instead of sacrificing the interests of other countries,” said Wang through its interpreter of its embassy.
Last fall, the federal liberals followed the United States by imposing 100% prices on Chinese electric vehicles, citing the need to protect the North American automotive market against unfair trade practices.
The government has also promulgated a 25% tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum imports, after having accused Beijing of environmental standards and “abyssal” work.
Last Thursday, China retaliated with a price of 100% on the Canadian canola and a 25% sample on the pork.
