Cedar Rapids, Iowa (KCRG) – Some companies in the northwest of Cedar Rapids expect a business boom once the Cedar Crossing Casino and Entertainment Center has opened.
City leaders and business owners say that a part now abandoned on the west side will see a transformation once Cedar Crossing will open.
But it is not planned before the evening of the New Year 2026, in almost two years.
Jaymz Larson has the double Z Bar and Grill, and he said he had a lot about it.
He said that he had seen an increase in customers before the Super Bowl weekend in this bar which is located a few pies of houses from where the city leaders inaugurated the new Casino de Cedar on Friday morning Crossing.
“A crowd attracts a crowd, we want to welcome Cedar Crossing. I honestly think that, being a quick cedar for life, it will be great for our city, “said Larson.
Larson said he was delighted that the Casino and Entertainment Center could bring another much necessary development in the neighborhood.
It is a place where repeated flood reminders are always obvious.
This area, she needs a shot in the arm. You can see that it was quite calm here, “said Larson.
Larson is looking forward to more business even before the casino opens due to all the construction jobs that the project will bring in the region.
“All these workers, there will be hundreds. All these workers will need a place to go, to eat, to spend time after having finished working, for us, I think it will put us on the card here, “said Larson.
