A new “entertainment zone” arrives in the Castro district of San Francisco, after a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors, according to a press release from the Board of Directors.
Nicknamed the Entertainment area of the upper Castro market, companies in this area will be able to offer take -out drinks in compostable or reusable containers to be appreciated outside. This is the fourth area of designated entertainment in the city of San Francisco. The others include the Front street And Arena Entertainment areas.
The region extends along the 18th street between the streets Diamond and Sanchez, Castro rue from 19th to States Street, rue Makret de Collingwood in Church Streets, rue Church from 14th to 15th trees, 14th rue des Rues de Belcher and Landers, from Noe de Beaver to Market Streets and the 16th street of the streets.

Senator Scott Wiener authorized SB 76 in 2023 with SB 969 in 2024, which allows cities and counties to select specific “outdoor zones” where it is legal to transport open containers of alcoholic drinks.

Now, more than ever we have to support our local businesses and show the world that our gayborhood remains the best in the world.”

The San Francisco’s economic labor development office will approve the events in the entertainment area, as well as the Castro Merchants Association.
