The Cannes film market launches Village Innovation, a new place dedicated to technology and innovation in the film industry.
The place will bring together most of the activities of Cannes Next, the flagship program of the market dedicated to innovation in the film industry, as well as activities from the brand new immersive market which revolves around XR and immersive professionals.
The panels and demos will focus on generative AI, live virtual production demonstrations and content windows. Some main players and technological startups should attend and will be announced at a later stage.
Guillaume Esmiol, Executive Director of Cannes Market, said that the innovation of the village “will present the best use cases in cinema, will offer practical experiences through live demonstrations. He said that “would ultimately create a unique platform where cinema professionals can leave a clearer understanding of these technologies, a roadmap adapted to their ambitions and good links to move forward. »»
Located at the International Village Pantiero, the new hub will be open to accredited participants throughout the market, which will take place along the festival, from May 13 to 24. Exhausting about 1000 square meters, the innovation of the village will include a 500 square meter pavilion for discussions, panels and demos, alongside a large terrace overlooking the port of Cannes.
“Nowhere else, artistic excellence and technological innovation collide with an influence than in Cannes. Village innovation will be based on this, creating an unrivaled environment so that professionals can live and interact with the future of cinema, “said Esmiol.
