Cameron Diaz is, quite literally, “Back In Action.”
It’s the title of his new Netflix film with Jamie Foxx, his first in ten years.
During a recent appearance on “The Graham Norton Show“, Diaz and said Foxx was the reason she came back to Hollywood.
“I spent 10 years not paying attention to anything,” she said. “I didn’t accept any advances, and then I got this script and thought maybe it’s time.”
She praised her teammate.
“If I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day, I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business,” Diaz said.
The two are old friends, having starred together in 1999’s “Any Given Sunday” and 2014’s “Annie.”
Diaz, who began her career as a model and starred in several hit films like “There’s Something About Mary,” hasn’t been sitting still.
In addition to being a wife and mother (she and her husband, musician Benji Madden, share two children), she is also a successful author and businesswoman.
“I loved those 10 years for me and my family,” she said of her time away from the sets. “But I said to myself, ‘If I let this go, if I don’t recommit and if I don’t give him a chance, I’m a fool.'”
The actress seems grateful for this return.
“It’s a privilege to make films, and we’re all very lucky to do what we do,” she said on the show. “The fact that the door was open to me after a decade was incredible.”
