Calgary firefighters were called on a construction site on Center avenue and 9a Street soon Sunday morning after a passer -by noticed flames from the condos complex which will soon be completed.
“9-1-1 received a phone call around 5:45 am; “The crews have arrived to find the building under construction with smoke and flames.”
The fire occurred on the top floor of the Bridgeland condos complex.

Given the size of the building, the call was quickly degenerated to a second alarm fire to ensure that adequate resources were allocated to fight against the flames.
The fire was located on the top floor of the condominium building overlooking a small courtyard on the southwest side of the building. The crews used a scale truck to access the upper floor to attack the fire from the outside and inside the structure. No resident currently lives in the building.

“The fire was contained and no exposure was worrying. However, because the building was under construction, there is a potential fire office,” said Fischer. “The concern of the fire spread to other floors was certainly important.”
The crews fought against the fire from the outside and in the condo building.

No injury has been reported and the CFD teams remained on the scene throughout the morning to provide fire surveillance before returning the site to Clark manufacturers.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and anyone with photos, videos or information concerning the incident is invited to send an email to the Calgary fire service in Piofire@calgary.ca
